In layman’s terms
the main difference between a catamaran and a sailing boat, is that a catamaran has two parallel hulls, while sailing boats have only one. The extra hull provides a larger surface which means catamarans provide significantly more stability on board. The extra space also typically means spacious cabins and outdoor areas.
Because of their size and the fact that they include cabins, catamarans are typically only rented for overnight trips. The majority of catamarans will include equipped kitchens, dining areas and lounging spots. Just like sailing boats, they are the ideal mobile home at sea.
